Description

WHAT IS THE WAUNAKEE HIGH SCHOOL FALL BASEBALL LEAGUE?
The Waunakee High School Fall Baseball League (WHSFBL) was created for the purpose of providing South Central WI baseball players an opportunity to develop their skills and receive top-notch instruction in the fall baseball off-season. The WHSFBL will feature some of the top baseball players in South Central Wisconsin which will increase the level of competition and help you make strong improvements in your game.  Players will be drafted onto various teams and will play 2-3 7-inning games for 5 consecutive weekends in the fall.

EVALUATION DAY
All registered players are invited to attend an Evaluation day in which college baseball coaches are invited to watch the field of players workout. The Evaluation day serves two purposes: (1) To allow the coaches of the teams in the league to evaluate the abilities of each player in the league to aid them in drafting their rosters (2) To allow players the opportunity to be seen by college baseball coaches to increase their chance of being recruited to play college baseball. The evaluation day will take place on the Sunday preceding the first weekend of play.

  • No pitcher shall pitch twice in one weekend unless all other pitchers on the team's roster have already pitched during that specific weekend

  • Free substitutions for all position players--see pitching rules above for pitching restrictions
PLAYOFFS
After the conclusion of the regular season (4 weeks of play), a single-elimination tournament style playoffs will be played.  The team with the best record will receive the #1 seed and the team with the lowest record will receive the lowest seed.  More information on playoffs will be communicated towards the end of the regular season.

LEAGUE PHILOSOPHY
This league is instructional in nature.  That being said, we are all competitive and want to win, but in the end what we really want is for each player to develop as a baseball player throughout the fall.  Coaches are instructed to give players relatively equal playing time throughout the fall and be actively involved in the instruction of all players.
